DEBRIEF

Overview

Esportplayer was built as a next-generation esports viewing platform with a crypto-economic layer: fans earn the platform token by watching esports, finishing daily quests, reaching milestones, and winning live challenges. True Industries built the web platform end to end.

The problem

Esports viewership is fragmented across streaming platforms, and fans get nothing durable for their attention. The product vision: a single destination for schedules, VODs, highlights, and guides across titles, where engagement itself earns a token, demanded a platform that combined content aggregation, gamified progression, and real on-chain value. That combination does not exist off the shelf. It required accounts and profiles, an EP-points progression system that converts engagement into daily token earnings, wallet integration for claiming tokens, and full internationalization, all in one coherent product.

How we solved it

We built the platform as a Next.js application structured around a progression core: users connect socials, select interests and favorite esports, complete quests, and accumulate EP points that determine their daily token earnings, with on-chain claiming through integrated wallet support. Around that core we built the content surface: schedules covering matches and tournaments across multiple esports titles, VODs, highlights, guides, league pages, and broadcast features. The platform shipped with full internationalization (including English and Chinese), profile customization, and ranked progression tiers up to Legend.
